SKULLZIE SEZ:
It is well
documented that far below the
great pyramids of Egypt are the
tombs that house great mysteries
and arguably powerful magic from
a very powerful Empire. Below
The Pyramid on Avenue A, you
won't find King Tut, but you
will encounter a darkly
mysterious crowd of moon
worshippers that are transfixed
by the pulsating beats
that resound throughout this
smaller, yet legendary, space!
And as a Saturday night staple
of the scene, you can rest
assured that the crowd is quite
loyal to their weekly fix of
whatever the DJs throw at them!
While the upstairs, main floor
of The Pyramid is host to an
80's Pop night, populated mostly
by college aged Day Crawlers,
it's actually kinda fun to see
small groups of them bravely
venture downstairs, only to get
totally spooked out by our kind
and dart back upstairs to their
cozy, khaki wearing world! LOL!!!
ASYLUM GUILD truly has that
"underground" feeling that harks
back to the earlier goth clubs.
The trick is to get there before
it reaches full capacity by
12:30am, to secure yourself a
spot on the dance-floor, at the
tiny bar, or on one of the many
comfy couches that line the
walls. What would be amazing for
this event is if it were to grow
to occupy both levels of The
Pyramid...but that's wishful
thinking on my part...maybe time
will tell...it did for the
Pharaohs! |
