But the dictionary doesn't have the right word to describe this event...and that is: necro'licious! That's right! I said it! This event is the grassroots of the entire N.Y.C. Goth scene. Located in the lower Tap Room of the legendary Knitting Factory (only the late CBGB's beat out this venue for showcasing amazing cutting edge musicians), this event boasts 3 Djs -- Dj Aengel, Dj Father Jeff, & Dj Patrick of Abstraction, Salvation, and even Albion/Batcave fame...and now Dj Templar of The Red Party! Semi-frequent live bands like Assemblage 23, QNTAL, Ego Likeness, Funeral Crashers, and many more also offer a show when in town!

Once you enter the Tap Room you will be awashed by a sense of comfortable darkness...sure, there are a few red lights here and about, but the simplicity of the lighting in this space serves a great purpose: focus on the music! Those who come out to dance the night away give in to the freeing sense that they are not part of some sort of Las Vegas styled light show. Dress in black, pick a spot on the dance floor, and just let the music run trough you...that's when you'll feel the comfort of the darkness.  Every first Friday of the month you will mainly see the familiar faces of the Goth scene as this is the staple Event that kicks off the month's festivities. Missing this event would simply be necro'mental!
