SKULLZIE SEZ: Plain and simple, the venue known as Lucky 13 Saloon is, hands down, the "Dark Bar" of Brooklyn! For those not brave enough to venture out the "Badlands" (Naw...it’s really not bad at all!) of Brooklyn, you can only sit in your own pathetic filth and wish for a similar joint in Manhattan! Think Coyote Ugly on Halloween night without the idiotic Day-Crawler college crowd. The monthly Whip it Good Wednesday event attracts a more Goth to Metal mixed with a sexy fetish clientele...not really an EBM sort of crowd. LOL!
 
Being that this event and venue is considered to be "out of the beaten path," many of those who congregate here month after month have formed a tight, neighborhood bar, sort of bond. This is also brought on by the relatively small space the Lucky 13 Saloon occupies...and quite frankly...this is a good thing!
 
Your hostess, the sultry and way-too-sexy-for-her-own-good, Mother Unique will also provide a few naughty goodies throughout the night. These include (but not limited to): a Pole/Bar Dancer, a selection of Guest DJs, a gift raffle, hot wax pouring (yeah...it’s what you think it is! See photos below), and, of course, some good ol’ fashioned whipping sessions administered by Mother Unique  herself! Mmmm...yummy! And if the eye-candy doesn’t grab you, you can easily spend at least an hour gawking at all of the posters, trinkets, artwork, photographs, doodads, props, and other weird junk adorning the walls. My favorite piece is the satanic pope painting by Mother Unique’s "special corner." Plus, you can’t go wrong at an event that also plays horror greats such as Night of the Living Dead III & The Evil Dead on its TV screens! Ohhh (*lamenting*)...why can’t there be a place like this in every borough??? Just as the hostess’ name indicates, this event is truly a Unique concoction, and you would be a fool not to make the quick trip out there at least once. If you don’t, I’ve been informed that Mother Unique will track you down and spank your insolent ass as punishment!!!
