ETERNAL SILENCE STATUE @ Graceland Cemetery

What to expect: Not too far behind the entrance of Chicago's historical and picturesque cemetery resides Eternal Silence – also known as The Statue of Death. Designed by sculptor Lorado Taft in 1909, the statue stands at the gravesite of Dexter Graves (Ha! Graves), who in 1831 led a group of settlers from Ohio to the land that two years later would become Chicago. Rumor has it that the statue is haunted...obviously.


INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM OF SURGICAL SCIENCE

What to expect: "The International Museum of Surgical Science, a division of the International College of Surgeons (ICS), maintains over 10,000 square feet of public galleries committed to the history of surgery, and an exquisite permanent collection of art and artifacts from the history of Medicine. MEDIEVAL TOURTURE MUSEUM

ROSEHILL CEMETERY

What to expect: Chicago's largest cemetery spans over 350 acres and is home to beautiful Victorian monuments and several ghost stories. Also...be careful to note the cemetery's visiting hours...because they will lock you in at night! ;D

SHIT FOUNTAIN
 
Location: 1001 North Wolcott Avenue      map & directions
What to expect: A tongue-in-cheek sculputure, created by Artist Jerzy S. Kenar, depicting are a large mound of poop serves as a reminder for dog owners to clean up after their pets in the neighborhood. POOP!!!
