What to expect: Not too far behind the entrance of Chicago's historical and picturesque cemetery resides Eternal Silence – also known as The Statue of Death. Designed by sculptor Lorado Taft in 1909, the statue stands at the gravesite of Dexter Graves (Ha! Graves), who in 1831 led a group of settlers from Ohio to the land that two years later would become Chicago. Rumor has it that the statue is haunted...obviously.
What to expect:"The International Museum of Surgical Science, a division of the International College of Surgeons (ICS), maintains over 10,000 square feet of public galleries committed to the history of surgery, and an exquisite permanent collection of art and artifacts from the history of Medicine. The Museum supports its Mission through medically themed exhibitions and programs, in addition to a strong contemporary art exhibition program."

What to expect: Chicago's largest cemetery spans over 350 acres and is home to beautiful Victorian monuments and several ghost stories. Also...be careful to note the cemetery's visiting hours...because they will lock you in at night! ;D
What to expect: A tongue-in-cheek sculputure, created by Artist Jerzy S. Kenar, depicting are a large mound of poop serves as a reminder for dog owners to clean up after their pets in the neighborhood. POOP!!!

What to expect: Located in Chicago's Avodale section, this store is a "must-shop" destination for rare and wacky books & music that you can't find anywhere else! They also do trades and buy used items as well! This type of store is a dying breed today in America...be sure to drop by and support it!

What to expect: "A curiosity cabinet of odd, amusing & eclectic items resurrected from the past. We specialize in vintage & antique taxidermy, anatomy items, medical stuffs, books, toys, skulls, bones, skeletons, military, funerary, art, charts, maps, tools, specimens, natural history, science, culture, industrial."
What to expect:"We moved from Southern CA in 2015, where we now realize there was clearly an over abundancy of cool retail horror stores. When we were done unpacking, we ventured out to explore the giant metropolis that is Chicago, and we were amazed that there weren’t any horror stores here... like at all. So, on a long trip to a horror con in St. Louis in 2016, we batted around the notion of opening our own store, more as a way to pass the time on the road. We effortlessly filled a spiral notebook with ideas for layout, décor, merchandise, party themes, unique events. From that point on, we talked about it in the theoretical sense "if we did the store, we would definitely have to have this or that". That went on for months and months. The store had become this creatively quirky inspiration that we somehow were always talking and texting about. On the next road trip to the same horror con the following year, we marveled at the notion that we had somehow signed a lease and that were taking a break from hammering away on building out the interior. After over a solid year of building out the store, we were on the road to that horror con again, this time as retail buyers intent on finding things to carry in the store. We opened a few weeks later, much to the delight of all the fellow monster/horror creepies that had been less and less patiently believing the sign in the window that promised “coming soon”. On June 29, 2018 we had our official grand opening ribbon ceremony... dressed as zombies so we could gnaw the ribbon apart of course. Ghoulish Mortals is here Chicago! Come check us out…because we built it for you, and uh, er... us."
What to expect:"Delilah’s opened in 1993 and has been open every day since. We feature DJs spinning Rock & Roll, Punk Rock, Metal, Ska & Reggae, Soul, Maximum R&B, Hard Country, Garage & Rockabilly – with a regular line up of special events. We carry more than 1000 beer and spirit options and we host regular art openings, film screenings & beer tastings."
What to expect: "Late Bar is located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood. Craft beer, spirits and all your favorites are served until 4am. You can dance to a variety of music and video or chill at our glorious vintage bar while our gracious bartenders pay close attention to the art of the cocktail."
